About BMAC

If you are interested in joining BMAC or learning more about aeromodelling, one of the best things you can do is visit us at the Crace flying field.

The best days to visit are Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday or Thursday – as long as the weather is fine and the winds are light. Canberra’s weather is usually cooperative so most days are suitable, if a little chilly in Winter. You can check the Field Weather to see what is forecast for today!

If you’ve never been involved in the sport, or are looking to get back into it after a break, please do pay us a visit – there should be plenty of people able to point you in the right direction.

Flight instruction takes place mostly on Saturday mornings, but availability depends on how many other students are currently undergoing instruction. however; if you are available during the week, there are a number of qualified instructor willing to assist. Check with the club Training Co-ordinator for availability of flight instruction.

If you haven’t flown before, the best thing to do is visit the field or get in touch with our Training Co-ordinator or Committee Members (President or Secretary) before you join.

Visitors

We welcome flying and non-flying visitors to the club and the best days to drop by are usually Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. However, as long as the weather is fine and the winds light, there is a chance someone will be at the field. The best times are usually between 9am and 11am.

We ask non-flying visitors to remain in the clubhouse area, unless accompanied by a member.

Flying visitors are also welcome, just talk to a club member when you arrive and ask if you can be signed into the visitors book. Please be prepared to show your current membership of a club with MAAA affiliation. It may be necessary to have one of our members ensure you are a competent pilot.
